Japanese textbooks in different size

In this conference, the speaker were from America, England, and Japan. It was really interesting to see different countries' research. Karen Wolffe told us how to teach low vision students with the social skills. To the young students with low vision, teach them how to self-disclose is very important. Give less info is usually better than more and none.

中野泰志 told us the digital textbooks problems in Japan. Before 2008, the digital textbooks are protected by copyright law. Therefore, low vision students had to use different size of textbooks. But the big-size-textbooks were not convenient to read and to carry. Besides, it cost a lot to re-make the different size of textbooks. In 2019, students had the legal right to use digital version of textbooks which had other features, like auto-reading, in-display searching. According to the research, using digital textbooks can make the students study longer and have better test score. And the most important thing is that the students are more willing to study.
